Notice on the 2024 National Day Holiday and Safety Reminders

Dear International Students,

    The National Day is about to come. To spend a safe holiday, the students are reminded of the following matters.

 

Holiday Schedule:

  • The National Day holiday will be seven days long, from October 1st (Tuesday) to October 7th (Monday).
  • September 29, 2024 (Sunday) will be adjusted to a weekday with normal classes/work.
  • October 12, 2024 (Saturday) will also be adjusted to a weekday with normal classes/work.

 

Safety Tips:

Travel Safety:

  • Plan Your Itinerary: Before traveling during the holiday, please plan your itinerary in detail, including transportation, accommodation, and tour routes, to ensure a reasonable and safe trip.
  • Traffic Safety: Observe traffic rules, do not run red lights, drive under the influence, or drive while fatigued. When taking public transportation, pay attention to personal belongings and avoid crowded areas.
  • Know Your Destination: Familiarize yourself with the safety conditions, weather, and local customs of your destination to avoid areas with poor security or frequent natural disasters.
  • Emergency Response: Carry necessary emergency contact information and identification, and be familiar with local emergency services such as medical care and police.

Health Protection:

  • Personal Hygiene: Practice frequent handwashing with soap and running water, especially after being in public places or touching public items.
  • Food Safety: Pay attention to food hygiene, avoid consuming unclean or undercooked food. Drink adequate water to maintain hydration.
  • Regular Sleep: Arrange your schedule to ensure sufficient sleep, avoid staying up late. Engage in moderate physical exercise to strengthen your physique.
  • Disease Prevention: Monitor weather changes, dress appropriately to prevent colds, flu, and other seasonal illnesses. Seek medical attention promptly if feeling unwell.
  • Mental Health: Maintain a positive and optimistic mindset, stay connected with family and friends, share your holiday experiences, and relieve stress.

Dormitory Safety:

  • Safety Check: Before leaving, please thoroughly check if all water and electricity facilities in your dormitory are turned off to ensure no safety hazards.
  • Valuables Storage: Keep valuables such as computers, mobile phones, and wallets securely locked in cabinets or safes.
  • Fire and Theft Prevention: Comply with school fire regulations, do not use open flames or high-power appliances in the dormitory. Ensure doors and windows are locked when leaving to prevent theft.
  • On-Campus Life: For those staying on campus, abide by school rules, keep the dormitory clean and orderly, pay attention to electrical safety, and avoid unauthorized electrical wiring.
