Prof. Yang Guoqiang, Vice President of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), was born in Hubei in November 1963, and raised in Anhui.
Prof. Yang received his B.Sc. from Peking University in 1985, M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Institute of Photographic Chemistry, CAS, in 1988 and 1991. From 1991 to 1996, he worked at Institute of Photographic Chemistry, CAS as assistant professor and associate professor. During 1992 to 1993 and 1996 to 1999, he joined Kyoto University and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a postdoctoral fellow. Since 1999, he worked in the Institute of Chemistry, CAS as professor, director of photochemistry lab and deputy director of the institute. He now serves as the Vice President of UCAS.
Prof. Yang’s research interests include: photo-functional materials, electronic structure of the luminescent materials, novel fluorescent probes, environmental effects and high pressure on the luminescent properties of the material and high resolution photoresist. He published more than 240 research papers and applied more than 40 patents in China, USA and Japan.
