Gao Suixiang

    Prof. Gao Suixiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) and Vice President of the Party School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was born in Yanchuan, Shaanxi in December 1962. He is a professor and a doctoral supervisor in UCAS.

    From 1998 to 2000, Prof. Gao conducted post-doctoral research at the Graduate School of CAS. He served as an associate professor at Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2000 to 2004, becoming a professor in 2004. Since 2004, he served as deputy dean of the department of mathematics, director of the university admissions office, director of the examination center, director of the network center, assistant president of GUCAS, and vice president of UCAS. Since May 2015, he has been serving as Deputy Secretary of the CPC UCAS Committee. ( In the meantime, he served as vice president from May 2015 to July 2017, and as secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection from July 2017 to December 2019.) And from December 2019, he has been serving as Vice President of the Party School of the Chinese Academy of Science.

    Prof. Gao’s research interests include: graph theory and its applications, network optimization models and algorithms, algorithm design and analysis of combinatorial optimization, and big data analysis methods and applications. He has hosted and participated in more than 10 national research projects and applied research projects for large enterprises. He has done significant research concerning computational complexity and communication network optimization and received Operations Research Applications Award of China, Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Prize and other awards. He holds seven national patents. His textbook, Graph Theory and Network Flow Theory, is recognized as high-quality textbooks for higher education in Beijing.
