Learn systematic thinking and methods, and master the ability to analyze and solve engineering management problems.

Learn the main mathematical knowledge, tools and methods needed to solve engineering management problems. Improve the ability of engineering research and application.

Part 1

Chapter 1Introduction to System Engineering2 hours

Introduce the basic concepts, development history, basic methods of system engineering. Master Hall method and Checkland's methodology.

Chapter 2Game Theory and Benefit Distribution6 hours

The mathematical method in engineering management. What is game theory? The basic model of game theory; the description, modeling and application of matrix game problems in competitive game; the Shapley method in cooperative game and other benefit distribution methods.

Chapter 3: Optimization Method4 hours

Optimization problems in engineering management. The main contents of optimization method are: 0.618 method, fraction method and split method, and the application of optimization method in irrigation engineering design.

Chapter 4: Mathematics Programming4 hours

Introduction to Mathematical Programming. Linear programming problems, models and algorithms; optimal allocation of resources in management; application of linear programming in practical problems; application of linear programming.

Chapter 5: Evaluation Methods4 hours

Evaluation problems in engineering management. The principle of analytic hierarchy process (AHP), paired comparison matrix, calculation method of weight vector, consistency test, and application examples of AHP. Multi-stage decision-making problems in engineering management: principle of dynamic programming; multi-index optimization problems; methods of dealing with multi-index optimization problems.

Chapter 6: Introduction to Engineering Management2 hours

Systematic, systematic and analytical thinking, general concepts of systems engineering, management problems in engineering practice and the necessity of application of systems engineering methods in engineering and project management.

Chapter 7: Main Process of Engineering Management4 hours

The process and content of project planning decision-making, organization, leadership and control, team building and leadership development.

Chapter 8: Knowledge System of Project Management2 hours

Through the study of PMBOK integrated management - stakeholder management system, the knowledge system needed to solve project management problems is explained.

Chapter 9: Life Cycle of Engineering Project4 hours

The process and work of each phase of the project are explained from four aspects: identifying requirements (including project selection methods), proposing solutions, implementing projects and ending projects.

Chapter 10: Project Planning and Control6 hours

Learn to use WBS for scope management, CPM and PERT network chart for schedule management, earned value management for cost and schedule control and other methods (and group WBS, responsibility matrix and other exercises).

Chapter 11: Stakeholder Analysis and Communication Management2 hours

Explain the methods of stakeholder analysis and effective communication management.
